Michels Canada, honoured for donation to breast cancer fund

Michels Canada Construction Manager Darel Malcolmson recently received a National Philanthropy Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals Alberta, Edmonton and Area Chapter. This was all made possible by the hard work of Darel Malcolmson and Aimee Hiebert
Michels Canada raised nearly $79,000 for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF) in 2014. Everyone working on construction of Enbridge’s Edmonton to Hardisty (E2H) Pipeline received a pink hard hat and pink gloves if they made a donation to the CBCF during October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Darel encouraged donations by promising to dye his hair pink if a $25,000 goal was met. Crew members responded by surpassing the goal in just 10 days. Michels Canada and Enbridge matched the donation, resulting in a total of $78,964.
The CBCF nominated Darel for the recognition. He accepted it on behalf of the entire Michels Canada team
