Michels Canada HSE Director wins leadership award

Congratulations to Shannon Caron, who received the 2019 Jack Cressey Future Leader Award at the Pipe Line Contractors Association of Canada (PLCAC) annual conference. The award is presented to individuals who have demonstrated significant leadership qualities in the pipeline industry.

Shannon is HSE Director at Michels Canada. She grew up in a family of pipeliners and became a permanent employee in 2013. In five years, she has strengthened Michels’ safety culture by developing internal safety and leadership training requirements and course content; developing and managing a transportation compliance group; and implementing new safety software.

Shannon was nominated by Gary Ziehr, Vice President, Michels Canada, who said of her: “I can say with confidence that Shannon’s drive and unique combination of experience and education has led Michels Canada to be a safety leader in the industry.”
