Michels Canada receives multiple honors at PLCAC

Every year the Pipe Line Contractors Association of Canada (PLCAC) recognizes member firms with exemplary safety performance and safety records. Michels Canada is proud to have two team members recognized for their contributions.

The 65th annual convention in Ottawa kicked off with Michels Canada HSE Director, Shannon Caron, becoming the first woman to receive the Jack Cressey Future Leader Award. The honor is given to members’ employees who have demonstrated significant leadership qualities. In addition to her work at Michels, Shannon is actively involved in the industry and serves on the PLCAC Safety Committee.

At the convention Michels Canada General manager Gerry Harding was also recognized for his contributions to the pipeline construction industry and was named an Honorary Member of the PLCAC. Gerry has nearly 50 years of experience and has been helping lead Michels Canada for the last decade.

In addition to the individual recognitions, Michels Canada was honored with the PLCAC 2018 James L. Abraham Performance Award of Excellence. With more than 20,000 man-hours worked in 2018, Michels Canada had zero hours of lost-time injury.
