Direct Pipe

Mastering new options

Michels Canada has been using the Direct Pipe® method for trenchless installation of a prefabricated pipe longer than any other contractor in Canada. This trenchless method combines elements of tunneling and HDD, and is well suited for small sites, construction under highways, rail tracks and waterways, and in ground conditions that are not ideal for HDD.

Projects

Michels used the Direct Pipe methodology to install 342 metres of 42-inch oil pipeline under the Beaver River.
