Horizontal Directional Drilling

Exceptional performance

Michels Canada’s expertise with Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) is a natural fit for trenchless pipeline installations in Canada’s exceptional environment. Michels owns 20 custom-modified large rigs with up to 1.2 million pounds of drilling thrust/pulling power. Our crews and equipment are capable of installing pipelines up to 60 inches in diameter to lengths beyond 2,000 meters in challenging locations and weather conditions.

Projects

Michels installed 2,273 metres of 20-
inch steel pipe through solid rock under the St. Lawrence Seaway.
