Scope

Michels Canada used Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) to install a 36-inch steel pipe under Deadhorse Creek. The crossing spanned 524 metres, entering 205 m south of the creek and exiting 190 m north of it. The drill passed under the creek three times, reaching a maximum depth of 21.9 m below its bottom. The borehole was reamed to a diameter of 1219.2 mm (48 inches) before the pipeline was pulled into place. Michels used the pilot hole intersect method.
